1 bored nephew
1 rainy afternoon
1 giant box of cheap "made in China" knockoffs
= one extremely happy kid.
I'd been compiling this box of cheap armymen. You know the type. It had a crazy amalgamation of Matchbox & Airfix knockoffs, old Marx copies by Helm Toys, some MPC knights and cowboys, some BMC, and a variety of other interesting Chinese imports. It had been sitting in my closet, growing and growing for years.
I decided it was time to put it in the hands of someone who would appreciate it. I gave him the box yesterday afternoon. By this morning, he had organized half of them and had the different types stationed all over the house and ready for a war.
Moral of the story, kids don't care if they're cheap, inaccurate, or an ugly shade of pink. They all fire the same imaginary bullets just fine.
