Our Western Federals

I love this picture. It's actually just a small part of a much larger picture showing some rag-tag federals on picket duty. This is the uniform we're using to design our upcoming federals. I love the plain, undecorated Hardee Hats, which we'll be using on several of the figures, though we'll probably be throwing in a kepi and a forage cap as well.

Set #1 (Confederate Infantry) is on their way, floating somewhere on the Pacific Ocean right now.

Those will be interesting poses and uniforms.
Different.
Will these be advancing or charging poses?

These troops will be "advancing". I've specifically asked our sculptor to make these troops look like they are walking, not running. When they are all put together, they will look like an advancing line of two ranks.

Great photo, I don't think I've ever seen that one.

I don't know why, but I'm fascinated by photos with great shots of Western Fed's slouch hats.
(I think the first step is admitting I have a problem)
